Default Electrical Frustrations

9 years ago while driving my 65 mustang at night in the rain I pulled up to a red light and the car died. Not only died but had no electrical power anywhere. Now I'm hoping to get the car running again. I have so far replaced the battery, ignition switch, and starter solenoid and still no power to anything. If anyone has an idea what my next step should be I'd love to hear it.

buy a test light or a multimeter. Connect the lead to the negative post of the battery. Touch the lead to the enigne block or the body at any random spot. If it lights up or gets a voltage reading then your grounds are bad.

If your grounds are good then its time to check your battery cables. Touch the meter leads to the ends of your battery cables and make sure that you hav e 12 volts getting to the soleniod.

Thanks guys, I knew there was something obvious I was overlooking. Where is the engine block to firewall ground supposed to be?
