Default Crazy idea?

So I've been reading about my 200 6 and what can be done to get a few more horseys out of it for quite awhile. Yesterday I ran across this article from Mustang Monthly (http://www.mustangmonthly.com/techar..._ignition.html).

It says that Offenhauser made a triple single barrel intake for these cars that improved driveablity, a little in performance, and more torque. Yesterday I said to myself, 'thats nuts!' Today I say, 'thats pretty cool!'

So I ask -

1. Am I a victim of my own craziness
2. Has anyone done this, and, if so, how hard was it and how well does it work?

I know there are things made today that will improve it, but I'm trying to stay in the 'what they could do in the 60's' improvements. I might change my mind when it gets warms up and I can actually do something with the car to make up my mind completely.

No, actually it's pretty cool. The intake is one of the main limitations in 6 cylinder performance. Get that, a dual header, and a cam upgrade, and you've got more power than a 289 2V.

That looks VERY cool! Heck, if I was sticking with my I6, I would've gone that route! So cool and I've never seen one before!
Definitely do it if you can.

Ok, so I'm not crazy. Guess I'll figure this into my budget when it comes time to do the engine. Come on springtime!

Also, is this the correct Carb for a 66 200? It looks a little different than mine. I was also wondering if this looked rebuildable and worth it for the 3 carb project.

No, that's the service replacement, inferior to the original 1100.

The 3 carb intakes are expensive though. I went with a Hw5200 progressive carb and the duraspark 2 ignition. Also added dual outlet header and a T5 to help it out.

So from a learning standpoint; How did you know that is a service replacement?

So I think I'm going to do this down the road. I'll acquire the other two carbs slowly as I find them for a good price. I found this one on ebay, but, it says it is for a manual tranny. What is the difference, or, will it work with auto as well? I have a C4.
