Default 350GT quick steer option

Hi lads,

any opinion about that modification? i have swap from 6cyl to 8 cyl steering and doing that I have to replace the idler and pitman arm, so i was thinking why not slap in the quick steer option that the 350GTs had .. ?!
is this racing only or usable on street as well?
I guess parking will be even les fun with my manual steering, but I'd bite it if it would make a good impression on the road ...

Should I go for it or stay away from it?

It will increase steering effort, not sure how much. I think if you're willing to muscle it around to park, you'll be pleased with it on the road.

I thought about but did not do it, I'll probably regret it later and have to switch it out.

If you do it, please post your review for the rest of us. If you like it I may just do it.

Good luck!

I had that kit on my driver for 15 years. Already had the 4-turn box, so it was the same as a Shelby. Not bad when driving, but parking it gave me forearms like Popeye.

That's pretty much what I expected. Even harder to park. Well I guess I'll just go for it and see what happens. Sometimes that plenty steering annoys me when gettin around corners quick or straight through small roundabouts. Can't be done without changing hands

It is REAL hard to park. I have to crank on the steering wheel pretty hard to turn. I upgraded to the 16:1 at the same time. It made a big difference between the 19:1 and 16:1 with quick steer.

If Racing, then there is a need for the Extended Parts (Indler/Pitman)

If a driver, need the pleasure of driving, then changing from the 5 turn Non Power Steering box, to the 4 turn "Power Steering Box" is a Real surprise to the driver. It will be HARD to turn.

Then, compound the isuue with the extended Parts (Idler/Pitman), now you have a BUGGER to turn??

How Big a Boy are Ya???

I managed it for 15 years, as did anyone who had a 65-66 GT350. But they're in a box in the basement, now.
