Default Automatic carb fail

Hey guys, having carb trouble again this time is different though.

so i have a autolite 2100 on my 289 67, the fast idle wasnt working after rebuilding the carb so i adjusted it properly and made it work. now whenever i run it for a few minutes and shut it off it is quite hard to turn back on, i have to hold pedal down and crank at the same time for like ~7-8 secs. this is annoying because if its cold it starts very quickly.
