Default Convertible Top Installation

There's a tack strip on the back of the convertible top. That tack strip connects the rear panel to the rest of the top.

I got a $200 quote from an upholstery shop to replace the strip and reattach the panel. While looking at it, he pointed out that the pieces that wrap around the cross rails are also looking rough. He quoted me a price of $650 labor, plus $225 for the top.

I rarely drive my car with the top up, so I'm going to pay the $200 to have the top fixed.

My question is - how tough is it to replace a convertible top? This is something I've never tackled, so I wouldn't know where to start.

My father and i have done a few its not that hard alot come with good instructions. The part i think people mess up the most is stretching it to tight. You will have some waves but from sitting in the sun they will come out.

If you do decide to replace the top, please, please take pics and post. I have the new top components sitting in boxes. Planning on tackling it AFTER summer.
