wanted to order a starter, but seller can't seem to come up with the correct one.


engine was 289, flywheel was 160T !!! (must be a leftover from the 1964 ....)
bellhousing was 1965 (6 bolt)
the starter that was in there ... no idea. could have been the original 1964 for all I know ... but as said no idea

now
engine is 1971 (or 1972) 302
flywheel is this one:RAM Automotive 1527
bellhousing still the same

starter seller in UK wanted to know details of flywheel (teeth and if the ring gear is on engine side or clutch side). So in summit the thing is advertised as 157T and I phoned RAM to ask about gear. they tell me it's engine side

now the fella who sells the starters tells me all 157T are cluch side ring gear ...

how hard can it be to oder a starter?

ignore. I phoned RAM again and they pulled one out of a packet. ring gear is on clutch side. all ok
