Default Seats

Now that I have all my engine parts on the way and my disc brakes and new rear in, I was thinking of upgrading seats. I have looked at Procar and got to wondering if a late model Mustang seat would fit a 65 without a lot of work. There are plenty around in wrecked cars and are much less expensive than Procar. Anyone got an idea or done anything like this?

It works well you only need to mount your early style seat tracks on the late model seats ensuring they are the correct distance apart. Pretty simple really.

Great. I'll start checking the junk yards then.

The good news is the mustang has a very easy and flat mounting surface. You can use seats fro just about anything. In most cases all you will need to do is cut the legs off a factory seat and weld up 4 tabs to mout it low and flat to the mustangs seat riser.

Thanks. I read several articles last night where people had installed everything from BMW to many other small cars. The question I have is since it is a double floor do just drill through both and let it stick out the bottom? Thanks.

Thanks, i guess I need to sit in some to see what I like best. They have to be better than the stock seats. I want to keep it as simple as possible. One of the guys on the forum recommended ProCar seats and they are really nice and easy to swap, but you are still looking at $900 with shipping and mounting hardware. I want to add new ignition, etc to my engine before I put put that on seats when mine were just covered. I am going to start another thread about heat and ac because there is nothing in mine. No ducts, etc. I got a shell when I bought the car 5 years ago and that was it. Any suggestions here? Thanks.

Looks very good. I am 6 feet and not a small guy. Do you think they would work? Electric would be very nice and should still be in good shape from a 07. Thanks.
