Default Electrical Woes...

So I just replaced my battery, battery cables, and voltage regulator. I thought this would solve the problem I have with my blinkers blinking very slowly. Now, sometimes the blinkers go very slowly (same as before) but sometimes they will randomly be fast (similar frequency to a modern car). There is no pattern to it. Natural next step is the alternator. So, with the engine running I disconnected the negative side of the battery terminal, and the engine kept running. Also: with the engine running my multimeter reads above 14 volts at the battery. The blinker bulbs themselves are damn new, not old.
1) Does that mean the alternator is fine?
2)What is causing the blinker issues?
3)Sometimes my headlights pulse a little, is that related?
4)Could it be either a fuse or old wiring?
No electrical modifications made to the car besides a pertronix, all stock stuff.

the turn signal flasher under the dash. Note, I believe the case for the flasher has to have a good ground. The flasher slips into a holder under the dash, and it may be all rusted, cuz this acts as the connection to ground at the firewall. Looks like this:

When its going fast check ALL of the lights to make sure they are all working. With age the sockets will get loose and allow the bulbs to move in them. After you know all the bulbs are working change the flasher.

Any LED lights on your car?

In any case a "heavy duty" flasher will flash consistently regardless of load.

These are available3 everywhere.

+1 on the flasher.

The pulsating headlights stem from the way the voltage regulator operates. It's not really a problem, but if it bugs you an electronic VR will cure it.

So I have a new blinker module, but I can't find/see where it goes? SPECIFICALLY, where might I find it?

It's under the dash, I believe it should be to the left of the steering column but I'm not sure. An easy way to find it would be to turn the key to run, turn on one or the other blinkers, stick your head under the dash and listen for the ca-click, ca-click, ca-click of the flasher.
