?Battery Problem
Okay after hooking upo my aftermarket radio i drove my 67 around then it set for a couple days. I go back to start it and battery is completely dead and its brand new along with alternator and tested out fine. So i unhooked the radio and once again charged the car and drove around and then the car sat for a couple days and once again it is dead. Can the accesory wire on the ignition switch draw current or did spliceiong into a hot wire cause a short or something. I unhooked the hot wire, but the accessory wire is still in place any help would be appreciated.
do you have a multimeter?
if yes simply switch off everything, disconnect battery minus at battery then hookup the multimeter between the battery- cable and battery- pole (in amp setting) and measure the milliamps flowing
how much do you read?
if you don't have a multimeter I can only suggest to disconnect battery when you leave the car and see if that resolves the problem. if it does not (problem persists) then the battery is crap I'd say
