Transmission overheating?
I have a 1965 Coupe with a I6 200ci motor/auto transmission. Recently I had to put in a new radiator (stock). I reconnected the transmission lines to the radiator. A couple of weeks later I checked the tranny fluid, and the fluid seemed very hot, and there were "bubbles" in the fluid on the stick.
A week ago the fluid level was fine. Two days ago when I placed the car in drive, I lost the tranny for a few seconds, then it went into gear. It ran kinda rocky for a few minutes, then seemed okay after that.
I checked the fluid in the tranny and it was bone dry. It did not leak out. A former mechanic friend said it sounds like the tranny is overheating and the fluid is evaporating.
The radiator is new, not rebuilt.
What should I do?

What should I do?
Disconnect the cooler lines from the radiator and look and see if there is anything blocking the radiator or the lines. They are shipped with plastic caps on the cooler ports. If you dont see any blockage then try and blow air through the cooler to make sure there isnt any blockage deeper in the radiator. It is possible that when the cooler lines were soldiered in that some soldier is blocking the line.
If it is solider blocking then call the radiator maker and have them buy you a new tranny.
