Will the hood fit, good question. I will find out soon. The performer rpm intake has a spacer on top of it which is why the carb is so high. I had to do this to keep the fuel line above the intake. However, if there is a problem I will try a thinner spacer. This one is around an inch. Personally, I like the look of the air cleaner lower, like the original 289 HIPO.

Well, I should have seen this before we installed the motor. The 5.0 block does not have a correct hole for the pivot that the zbar hooks to. We put the pivot in what we thought was the hole for it, but I should have known better since 5.0 rollers use cable clutches. Now I see that I need a bracket that bolts to the engine in which the zbar bolts to.

Honestly, this is the first time I heard about the bracket since my conversion began 2 months ago! The 5.0 and T5Z swap is not as easy as some make it out to be and I have found that there is not a lot of clarity by the manufacturers of parts as to what works with what.

One thing I will say for sure, the MAC LONG TUBE headers with the matching H-pipe fits like a dream! It's not too low to the ground either! It really floors me that MAC is not selling more of these...

well I have a 302 with 1" spacer and rpm intake. should be the same height so :-) all good. Only the cobra air cleaner (the long oval one) is hitting the front of the crossbrace in hood occasionally
