Default Clutch

Ok so driving my 67 to work today I noticed something, also broke down for a bit. When I give it the gas and try to let the clutch out the car shakes like a beast, it won't do it. However, when I let it out slowly and let it catch, then give it the gas it goes smoothly. What is going on here?

A number of things can cause clutch chatter. oil on the clutch plate; broken center springs on the clutch plate; torn or broken lining on the clutch plate; warped clutch pressure plate or broken springs on the pressure plate; worn or missing pilot bearing; bad input bearing in the transmission; sloppy linkage or bushings on the Z-bar; bad transmission mount; bad engine mount(s) and probably a few I failed to remember.
Check the parts you can without removing the transmission first then check the rest.

Well all the parts have about 10 miles on them. Only thing I haven't changed is the bushing set on the frame mount for the z-bar. I think I'm going to replace my clutch rod as well since its not the greatest.

Manual, its the same transmission that was behind the 6. Also it only does this in 1st gear, reverse has no problems.

check if they are broken...

It could just need some time to wear in. My t5 was a bit fussy for the first few 100 miles. If you dont remember getting oil on it when you installed it and the motor mounts are good just drive it for a while if you think the linkage from the clutch to the trans is in working order and properly adjusted.

Well checked the mounts and they are good. One thing I did notice once the exhaust was put on is there is a squeaking sound coming from the clutch area. It sounds like the throwout bearing is messed up or something.

Man, sorry to hear you having issues already. I'm thinking the same things as the others. Does the sound you speak of go away or change when you press in the clutch?
