Default Can someone give me areas to look at here

I am new to the 69 but it's one I want. I am requesting detailed pics and will go look at it.

Can you give me some specific areas to look at when I see it. What are thoughts on price based on condition. I will post additional info on what was done once I have it.

I am only looking further into this if it's in the 90's for sheetmetal vs glass work on body.

Thanks for any areas to make sure I look for.

Don.

Look for rust or badly repaired rust in the frame rails, lower quarters, floors, cowl, or trunk floors. If it needs repair, or re-repair in any of these places it's simply not worth what he's asking.

If by "glass work" you mean fiberglass, that would qualify as crappy repairs.

Previously I meant filler/bondo. I was looking at pics of windows when I was typing,(Can;t do 2 things at once)

Please keep listing them.... I am adding these to the binder of info.

You could see a lot of before/during/after here. The before stuff will show you horrific rust.

Look hard. Wear work clothes, lay on your back with a flashlight and really check out the underside paying particular attention to the areas 2+2 mentioned. Bring a knowledgeable friend for an unbiased opinion. Good luck, I hope the car is all the owner says it is.

Also check out the rear quarter pannels from inside the trunk. If they are wrinkly or dented on the inside.. then they are coverex with bondo on the outside. Check the shock towers for cracks where they bend in. Also, pour some water into the cowl and see if it leaks inside. Look at how the fenders bolt to the engine bay wall under hood. See if they are bent indicating front end damage. Check how the car sits from front and rear and look at the space between front and back of the tire and the fender.. other indications of poor alignment or frame damage. Good luck man... i love and hate my 69. But wouldnt trade it for anything.. except maybe a mach one with the same amout of work that i put into mine so far.

Get the vin and door tag info decode them here http://www.mustangdecoder.com/ the vin is the only way to tell its a true mach1 they are easy to clone. The trick to tell thick filler or fiberglass is a fridge magnet stick it random spots on the lower half of the body if it won't stick walk away.

This is another local car to me. There is some patch on the exhaust, does anyone know what that may be?
