Default I did it, I joined the Classic Mustang group!!!

Hi,
I have used all your help in my search over the past two years. I have learned a good amount but the most important is to come.

I will now need to ask many Q's and hope that I find as good as answers from good people as I have done in the past. Only this time, I am a proud owner of a 1969 Mustang Mach 1.

I have purchased an M Code and it has a 351w. I also have a new rebuilt 351 with it that I believe I need to wither sell it or turn it into a beast. At some point, I will ask if it is wise to sell it off or to build it out into 400+hp

I will add afew pics so you can see. I only waited to buy one that has gone through a full restoration for frame/body/interior.
The wiring is orig.
The interior is about a 7 out of 10. Orig headliner and a couple pieces trim need replacing.
A few lights are out and I ill have to remove dash, I plan on LED replacements so I don't have to worry again.

I need an Orig radio or upgrade the one in it to scream.

I have a few paint chips but the paint is 1.5 years old.

I will update more later but for now, I am in need of researching TACH's. Can anyone give me some advise, I would like one in this as I find I want ot know where I am at.

This is AWESOME..... 11 hours in possession it is......

My 1969..

I have no idea where to begin. Well, I do, the reverse lights are not working. The linkage is not back far enough to trigger the switch so I have to adjust the linkage.

As it looks like the switch is all the way forward, I need to move back the linkage to puch it farther.

I can't wait to get info on buying a kit to build out the other engine.....Man, I will have so many things to do....

I love the modified engine bay look but I think for $$ sake, I will keep stock.

Also, I noticed the heater hoses go into the fire wall, I have a couple drips from teh core, Clamps I am sure. I think I need to weld up copper and have that go through the fire wall and hook the hose to that. Is that what you do? This fix only sounds like it's the way to go, who want's all that work for a leak?????????

Going forward in this built stage, what is the best book on the 69 stang?

Also, what is a good site/thread/book in understanding how to rebuild that other 351w into a power house? All needed machine work I will have a shop do. Anyonw in NH that can recommended one?

Now I have to find an event to take the car to.

First time without power steering or power breaks. I'm 40 so I grew up on power.

I love it though, simplicity...

Congrats!!! Pick up a copy of the Ford shop manuals for 1969.

http://www.metropartsmarket.com/cata...g_c3_4911.html

Any of the parts stores or ebay should have it. Very helpful.

Welcome!!!

I don't know a hell of a lot about 69 or 70 models, but to make good power with a 351....

I can do that..

MY recipe...

Victor Jr. heads,

RPM Air Gap intake

Mid length headers (less of a pia than long tubes)

408 stroker kit

Warm (but not too hot) cam

700 750 CFM carb, you pick the brand...

Roller lifters (spider and bones kit is ok)

This should easily give you more than 400 hp.....

Nice, that may have to be the other engine. Now, Will I need to modify anything for oil and cooling?
