Default sound deadening

I am thinking of adding sound deadening to my new 69. There is insulation under the carpet but that is all as far as I can tell.

I have read about ceramic micro-spheres added to latex paint for insulation and partial sound deadening which sounds very interesting. You can do that rather than buy the lizard skin which is $$$$.

I am looking into some form of sound deadening to add on top of that which is a reasonable price and is worth the work.

I don't yet know how hard it is to remove the seats, rug, door panels and side trim(over wheel wells not sure name of that piece).

Is removing that tricky?
Has anyone gone through that post restoration?
Anyone with experience?

Huh. A 69 would have, depending on body style, sound deadener on the firewall, underside of the cowl, under the carpet (and on the carpet, making a double layer) under the rear seat, between the headliner and roof, on the "C" (roof) pillars, behind the quarter trim panels, behind the rear seat, under the package tray, and on top of the gas tank. There was also an undercoating-like heavy sound deadener sprayed inside the doors, and on the inside of the quarter panels. The mach1 and Grandé had an extra 55 pounds of the stuff, for an extra-quiet ride. I'll bet some high school kid pulled most of this stuff out of your car in 1976.

The factory die-cut stuff is quick, easy and relatively cheap. I'd start there.

Removing the seats is so easy they were often stolen back in the day. Takes about 5 minutes. Door panels pretty easy, get the special clip tool or you'll likely ruin them. It's like $5. The rear seat comes out in about 2 minutes to access the quarter trim. Lots of experience on this board.

I just took off the back section of the rear seat, I didn't look to the bottom yet. So from what I see, there is no insulation on the seat back, but even if there was, there are huge gaps from that back rest to the side. If I had taken this apart and did myself, I think I would have sealed off the inside from the trunk from all gaps.

So, if I do add insulation, you could see it from the trunk. Now it's only a trunk but what have others done to make it look clean from the trunk area? right now the trunk is just metal, no covering of insulation/rug/etc.

Does anyone have trunk pics that show the back of the seat and the sides in there?

for sound, I was thinking RAAMmat BXT II. I also noticed that the previous person did not epoxy prime & paint the inside cabin area. So, when I pull apart the seats/trim, I am going to prime paint. Since I don't have any spray tools, can anyone tell me the best Prime & paint to use that I can get from an auto store or online.

Thanks,
