Thanks for the info 2+2 but I think I am going to stay stock and not change too much. My inline 6 will eventually be a daily driver but I am just trying to replace all the old rusty parts on it.

The Arning/Shelby drop is primarily a front geometry correction rather than being an appearance mod in and of itself - and since you aren't likely to weld the original holes up solid you could always "undo" it later (though I really doubt you would). I'd expect no more than half an inch lower at the front axle line for a 1" Shelby drop, and a much nicer handling "feel" than "early Falcon".

If you do it at the same time as the strut replacement, it won't even cost you having to do or get a separate alignment.
