Anyone use a 9" rear end from an F 100/150, what'd you do about brakes?

I don't think anyone has used one,But i know the Shelby's that raced used the truck drums in the rear to help brake faster.

Do they come with limited slip? What about gear ratio. I assume you need to cut/mod to help wheels fit under the car. Why not use the brakes off a f150? Sorry about the questions but I have never heard this option before. Do you have the rear?

They are wider and the leaf mounts need to be moved, IIRC. With the correct backspacing, wheels may actually fit. I don't recall the pattern diameter.

Pro Street narrowed with coil overs, I'm just concerned about the brakes, bolt pattern whatever, I don't want to be limited to truck selection for wheels.

You can always change the bolt pattern on it,For brakes wilwood makes a ton for the 9 inch so that's not a problem either.

Some of the F100s have the 4 1/2 bolt pattern the same as a car..Lots of modifications required to fit one in a mustang though.

FoMoCo sells rear disc setups from Rangers that bolt onto the earlier 9" axles. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Last time I checked they were somewhere around the 300.00 setup. All Ford parts.
