Hood Pins vs Latch

I got rid of my hood pins...I hated them.

Interesting. Even for the non-locking version it looks like you'd have better quick-visual proof of it being latched or not (assuming that you had the discipline to always check).

I'd rather run a flush arrangement too.

A few years ago a member of this forum drove his car to, I think, Walmart after dark. Picked up what he went for, got back in his car and headed down the road. His fiberglass hood departed the car because someone had pulled the pins in the parking lot and in the dark he did not see it.

I ran those aerocatches on a 240sx i had with them body color you had to look hard to see them on the hood.Hgc i think i remember that post the only prayer you got is the hood comes fully off or there is no traffic when you get blinded by the hood.

As I remember he lost it completely. I think it was fiberglass and broke off at the hinges.

I personally think that 9 out of 10 times cars look better with out the pins.

I run pins only but i have a 65 shelby r apron that doesnt allow me to run the latch. Yes i have forgot the pins before and ruined a $500 hood. That wasnt the only car ive done it one either.
