Question 1bl Carb help

I recently rebuilt my Autolite 1100 carb and for the most part it runs really good. However, it only runs good and smooth when the accelerator is moderately pushed. But when I give push the pedal half-way to full it seems to be starving for air. It doesn't really sputter but it stuggles through it. I can get up to 50 plus MPH and then ease off the pedal and it its fine. It is when I am asking it to do more is when I have the problem.

I have adjusted the choke, the fuel/air adjustment, everything I can think of but no luck.

Any advice?????

What is your miles per gallon with this carb? Pull a few of your spark plugs and see what they look like. If you can post the pictures, that would be great.

Sounds like a possible choke problem, vacuum advance problem, clogged fuel filter, etc. If you can take a picture of your distributor as well. It's possible you may not have a "Load-A-Matic" distributor which could be the cause of the problem also.

The park plugs are brand new, put them in the week before I rebuilt the carb. The fuel pump with filter on top is new, maybe 3-4 months old. I didn't have this problem before I rebuilt it so I am a don't think it is the distributor. But I will get some pictures of it all and post them to see if there is something I am missing.

Thanks,

It is the right distributor for that carb...that's good. The condition of the plugs will tell you a lot of how the carb is working (too lean or too rich).
