Default Unibody replacement

Ok, so I have this 67 coupe that's got some weaker unibody portions behind the rear wheels and primarily on the driver side front. Weaker meaning some rust holes in the rear, and the front driver side "sounds" cardboardish when I hit it with a screwdriver. It doesn't poke through but yeah... just doesn't sound solid. Anyways, I was wondering if there are any "replacement" unibodies out there. Something newly manufactured with maybe even suspension as an option to have in the package deal (not a requirement), just a possible option. I do understand that I can weld and repair the frame for a lot less money but if I just feel like making it as "new" as possible.. is that even an option?

Have you looked at Dynacorn bodies? The run between 15-16K...more for fenders, hood, etc.

The rear "rails" are available to be welded into the existing body. I think TCI has a kit that is somewhat an integrated swap in with new suspension included.

Yeah the body is in pretty good shape so im not going to replace that right yet but that is an option. As far as the rails... like mustangdepot.com has rear end coilovers... is that what you're talking about?

Every single portion of the body can be replaced. No need for oddball conversions like coilovers.

70% of the unibody of this car has been replaced:

So if what I need to replace is the rails underneath... any suggestions?

Cut the old ones out and replace them one at a time.

There is no difference between the body an chassis on a Mustang, the "unibody" construction merges the two concepts into a single item.

Just cut out the bad and weld in new is all you can do.

Virtually everything these days is unibody with the exception of commercial vehicles, full size trucks/vans and a few others. The body forms the actual structural component in a unibody, rather than having a separate chassis. Just replace bad sections as needed.
