Default Equalizer bar bracket removal

I am in the process of rebuilding my clutch and brake pedal bushings as well as the bushings for the equalizer bar for my 1968 Mustang with a 289.

Has anyone been sucessfull getting the equalizer bar bracket bolts unsiezed in order to remove the bracket with the engine in the car? The two bolts are very siezed and I am concernced I will break them off if I try too hard to remove them.

Any suggestions for removing the equalizer bar with out removing the engine?

I use heat on the heads of the bolts. Then soak Kroil into them overnight.

Thanks for the info. I will try adding some heat. I also need to get some 6 point sockets because I noticed when I had my box end wrench on one of the bolts is was starting to strip the bolt.

Did you have to remove the steering box to get to the bolts with your torch? The bolts for the equalizer bar bracket for the 68 Mustang are under ther steering box.

No, if you use a small flame and have good aim.
