Default hooker headers = P.I.T.A {sound clip up}

yeah oh what a pain these have been to install.... 65, 289, auto...

ordered these hooker headers, passenger side not bad....

drivers side horrible... Im talking about totally modification to correct the fitment..

= means heating and bending to perfection, then welding up the custom exhaust pipes running out the sides thru the eleanor side skirts and to peoples ears!!

such a pain but from the do it yourself kind of stanger, only another small step in building a 1 of a kind car...

hooray ford...lol

aye PITA. Had to remove the rocker covers to somehow get them in. Needed to get a hammer to it so I could actually put the bolts through the holes. That means in their QA process they catuaually never try if they can get the bolts through the holes. The pipe is in the way. then I had to grind down the area it sits on as that was wobbly as hell. But ya once they're in they are fine. Nightmare to put them in though

I had a set of Casler headers on my 66 for years, they fit really well, but as I got older, the noise and heat (and speed-bump clearance) got old, and I replaced them with 289HP manifolds. Never been sorry.

I Run hookers with no problems. The only thing I had to do was change to the 66 style engine mounts.

+1 for me too, easy install and more than "good enough" for a very strong driver.

I ordered the regular style and then the ceramic coated versions, the ceramic coated versions are quite a bit more money, but vastly superior.. (i.e. 3/8" flanges vs. 1/4" etc.)

Are you upset about the fitment or the difficulty of installation? My Hookers fit perfectly on my '69 Mach 1 Windsor with manual toploader. The only thing is I had to raise the engine up a few inches to get the driveside on to begin with and then drop everything back down. There is just not much room to do much of anything between shocktowers. Changing plugs is a full day chore for me.

I don't know if that is an inside joke between you two - but it made me laugh.
