About 30 years ago, my dad mounted a tape deck under the glovebox that slides on and off a metal plate. Works good and can't really tell one is mounted there when you slide it off.

Since it's a tape player, I bought a special tape that has a headphone cable coming out of it, and I can hook it into my phone/mp3 player and play my digital music.

yes, that's correct. Procar Elites, stock console, humphugger, crappy Grant Steering wheel

This subject has been discussed many times and it's always a crap shoot with answers. I would not cut the dash. The PO of my car did, so what's done is done!!

Of course.

"To cut or not to cut, that is the question."

There was a time when I would have said no, but simple fact is, the early Mustang dashes will fix up just fine if you or a future owner decides to go stock.

The radio in the dash thing can be a pain in the ***.

AM just sucks where I am, even decent talk radio has moved to FM here....

Cut it without guilt if you want good tunes at your fingertips. Even if your old AM works now, it wont work forever and getting these things fixed is hard and expensive.

Mine is cut, and I'm not really concerned about it. I like having a good radio in the car.
