Question 8" Rear End ?

Hi,

I am looking at doing a conversion to 5 Lug and one day a V8 engine from my current 65 inline 6. I have seen a few 8" rear ends on ebay but not sure if other mustang years would work with my 65 or if other ford cars would work. Any information as to what year / models would work with my 65?

65, 66 would be a direct bolt in. 67 and up will be wider than stock but Ive been told it is close enough to adjust with wheel backspacing

All you need are the axles from a 65-66. 8" third members are the same. Could even use the third member from a pinto or Mustang II as long as it's 8". Some Mustang IIs came with a 3:55 gear.

Thanks for the offer, I live in Wisconsin so that would be a little $$. I am looking for a whole 8" assembly if anyone has one.
