door repair options..
Hello
The doors on my 66 are looking out for better weather.
The guts and glass are all in good shape even some of the weather stripping is new ish. But the frame at the bottom is rusted out and the doors dont sound solid when you close them. The skin at least near the bottom front is rusted and blistered on the pass side on the driver side it does not match the fender near the bottom front like it was bent.
I am of the opinion to buy two new door frames with skin and use all the guts from these doors in the new frame.
Who should I look to for a quality door frame?
Or is there a better idea?
Thanks
-Gun

I think I'd watch eBay for some good doors. No experience, but everyone says the repop stuff needs "fitting". Besides, if you get some off of eBay, they'll likely have glass and other guts, so you could pick and choose the best of the bunch and sell the leftovers on eBay.
thats an idea
I was looking at NPD

They say the door has been tested for an excellent fit...is that a total load or are they pretty good?

when you get new ones, shove insulation in them like dynamat etc. That made a huge difference to my buddies chevelle. they're now firm and solid sounding and gets less road noise. of course he did the floors as well. But if you get repops, I'd do that anyway since they're gutted already

I don't know about the one's at NPD, but CJ's has Dynacorn ones. I haven't tried their doors, but I've had good luck with their fenders.
Also, if you buy the pair, CJ's are much cheaper: http://www.cjponyparts.com/dynacorn-...966/p/DYNADRL/ (plus they usually have at least 10% off on weekends).
