Clacking noise from engine
1966 Coupe
200ci I6 mated to automatic trans
1bbl manual choke carb
I started my car around an hour ago and I heard a faint clacking noise and my car was idling rough. Since I have a manual choke with no control to it I took the rough idle to be normal and disregarded the clacking noise. As I'm pulling out of my driveway the clacking gets louder and follows the rhythm of the engine (I give it gas, it speeds up). I stop to take a look at what's going on and I notice that the engine fan is a little off kilter and there is oil leaking from the front of the engine block (right below the fan). To avoid any further damage (both to the car and my ego) I shut the car off and pushed it home.
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with my 'Stang?

Just an update
I have plenty of oil pressure, but I looked at the spark plugs and I'm seeing a lot of deposits on spark plugs 1 and 2.
There's a lot of coolant leaking from below the fan when I wiggle it. Lots of metal in the coolant.
There's also a very aggressive metal on metal sound while it runs. I'm thinking that I spun a bearing.
I'm going to drop the oil later and check for shards there too to confirm.
At this rate I'm looking for another straight six to drop in. Thanks for your help, dudes.

if your fan is wiggling then it could be just your fan rubbing and jiggling around making the sound and scratching off metal..check around under the fan to see if its coming from around the water pump, its an easy fixjust take off the fan, and a couple radiator hoses and you could have it off in 20 mins.

if there is metal in the coolant sounds like your water pump bearing has failed...take the water pump belt off and crank it up and see if the sound goes away
