dash pads
this sounds stupid. years ago i purchased a new dash pad for my 66 mustang. i see now that they sell original ford tooling pads and reproduction pads. they probably did when i bought mine. my question is: does anyone know of a way i could look at mine and tell which one i have? i don't even remember where i bought it from and don't have a clue as to how much i paid for it.
what shop did you get it from? if it was online store they can tell you.
If you bought it over the counter it's a bit more problematic to find out if you don't have anmy part numbers of your purchase

You will know if it's a Ford Tooled dash by how well it fits when you install it. The Ford tooling dash pads literally fit like a glove. The one I recently installed in my 65 convertible was made by Dashes Direct. I purchased it from VA Classic Mustangs. I was really surprised with how easy the installation was. I had very little trouble, as the pad snugged right onto the dash and all the pre punched holes in the new pad lined up extremely well. I basically had no adjustment issues. Unfortunately, there are no numbers or indicators on the pad itself to tell you that it's Ford tooled. It might no hurt to call Dashes Direct and ask if there's any way to tell. I called them with a question before I installed mine and the guy I talked to was very helpful and patient.
