Check your other gauges too when it pegs out next time. Be sure your gas gauge dont move if it goes up as well the problem may be your dash voltage regulator. Otherwise i would look into your water pump, its a cheap and easy fix.

Yeah when I got home it was still pegged, but the engine didn't seem hot. I've been thinking about buying an aftermarket temp gauge and this might be enough for me to do so. Never noticed if the gas gauge went up, I don't think it did though.

I'm still not quite sure why my fan quit working though. I've only had it on a few months now, and was working just last week. Seems if anything goes wrong its all at once. Glad I have 3 other cars I can drive this week.

Well bought a temp gauge and a new water pump. Hopefully I can install them tomorrow.

Along with the new gauge I would reinstall the original mechanical fan and see what happens...Electric fans can cause all kinds of problems...

When did you change your username?

I"m thinking that little electric fan you have is too small. The Mark 8 fan should be significantly better.

I still prefer mechanical fans.

Yeah after just pulling the Mark 8 fan out I could see how tiny my electric fan really is. I should have it up and running again friday.

are there simplly 2 power wires to the fan motor?

If yes apply 12V to them direct and see what happens.

Stick your Ohm meter on the two wires and see if you get any resistance.

It won't fit on my radiator setup, I just went and bought a 14" electric fan. So I will have a trimmed Mark 8 fan and PAC 80 amp relay for sale soon.

$75 + shipping for the Mark 8 fan and relay. When I say trimmed I cut off the mounting tabs that stuff off of it, and cut about 1/2" all the way around off.
