Default Timing Question

OK, we got the car all taken apart and are in the process of changing the timing chain.

Do the dots on the gears go up and up, or up and down where they are "touching" in the middle?

It's a 302 for anyone who hasn't read about her before. (72)

I was just reading your post, it is a very small Mustang world.

Thanks, about the placement, are you pretty sure about that? We don't have a book on her yet, it will be in on Tuesday.

MAN, i dont want to tell you wrong, but on a chevy 350, thats how it is, i would believe that a Ford would be too, even though ford seems to make everything tough.

The cam gear(big one) dot should be at 6 o' clock and the crank gear(small)should be at 12 0' clock. Good luck!

The single dot on the lower gear is lined up with the dot on the larger cam gear. A picture is worth a thousand words.
