Two tone Interior?
I'm not sure but my '68 S Code fastback may have been built with a two tone interior..The car has sat for nearly 4 years since I've removed the trim and interior trim had been painted black. But now after cleaning off the paint I found that all lower interior trim pieces(door panels, dash, door pillar, lower rear panels, visors and seats were parchment but the upper trim, sail vents, rear roof moldings and trim moldings were black. These all still had some of their original paint on them. The trim code is 2U(parchment) but all the interiors, parchment or not,I've seen have been one solid color. Where do I go find if this is the original paint scheme? I have reseached the web discovering decor groups(1,2,3) for the '68 interior paint schemes but haven't found if you could have ordered a two tone interior. Just looking for some guidance and help with my problems!!! Thanx in advance...
That's probably correct, although I'd look closer to see if it's actually a very dark brown. I don't have access to photos of a correct 68 parchment, but this is 68 saddle, with dark brown upper trim. Is shown restored, but was 100% unrestored when the work began, so the color scheme is known to be correct and original.
I love your interior and thanx for the reply!! I've double checked my trim pieces and they are black for upper and parchment for the lower. Mine seems like a harsh contrast in colors but yours looks elegant. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks and make my judgement then.. Thanx again for your help and the pic.. Dan
