I went to a local welding shop today and bought a 100lb tank full of nitrous. I am on mt way to lowes to get ann adapter fitting and hose to fill my bottle.
I will also get an electric blanket to put on the 100lb bottle and a scale to weigh the small bottle.

I did notice that the nitrous they sell is labeled as nitrous+ it has 100ppm of sulfur added. I know this is to eliminate the inhaling of the gas.

Will the sulfur cause any negative effects to my cylinders or to the intake parts.. I have done a lot of internet homework and this seems to be the most economical way to get the juice.

I paid $140 for the deposit on the tank. Then $145 for the nitrous. SO it breaks down to $1.45 a lb. the cheapest price i can find on nitrous locally when having my bottled filled is $7.99 a lb.

Anyone out there doing this, please let me know if i am going in the right direction and if there is anything that i should be concerned about other than the obvious with transfering the gas.

I believe the sulfur is added so you can smell leaks. I do believe burning sulfur leaves a residue.

Hopefully someone will be able to elaborate as I am only stating all I know on the subject which isnt much!

Good luck

When I looked into this, my understanding was that I needed a compressor...

Any compressor should work, as long as it is able to pump the gas from the big tank to the smaller one.

While the 100lb tank is near full you will get a good transfer without the need of pumping, as the big tank empties, you will get a proportional reduction in the amount of NOS that will transfer.

You will get a better transfer when the big bottle is warm, and possibly you will get a better transfer if the small bottle is cold....

I think the sulfur is added to ALL non-medical applications for the gas, including that sold for automotive use so it makes the sulfur a non issue.

IMO the sulfur wont hurt a thing, it may even help your valves a little.

so far i have transferred one tank and it went fine. I am going to get an electric blanket to wrap around the 100lb bottle and I will stick the small one in the freezer. Man this way is a lot cheaper. Its only $1.45 a lb.

I do use a lot more though....

This is how we used to do it freeze the hell out of the small bottle and heat the big one
