Call a local locksmith and they can come out and make a new set of keys for you.

How are you going to find out what the key pattern is???

You could just order a new ignition switch with keys, replace it, and go from there. No big deal.

No need to break it off, just take out the key cylinder and take it to a lock Smith.

seems like its harder on a 71 to remove the lock cylinder. cant you put it in neutral and push it out?

get under the car and disconnect the transmission lever from the transmission, click the part it was attached to back 2 clicks, the car should now be in Neutral, each click corresponds to a different gear, eg, one click is reverse, 2 is N, 3 is D etc.

IMO the locksmith idea is the best, a locksmith should be able to make a key on the spot without a code.

I like the disconnect the tranny post too....
