Default Dynomax Soundclips

Hi:

I am considering replacing some Flowmaster 40s on my 65 289 automatic, with Dynomax Super Turbos or Ultra Flows (welded or polished). I have searched out and listened to soundclips on the web and on Mustang websites in particular, but if anyone has clips for either of these systems that they could easily post here I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks in advance,

/s/ Chris Kenendy

if you're looking for a straight thru muffler design, Borla has some options as well.

I went with the Borla XR-1 Sportsman based on the fact it has a little less physical volume than the Ultraflow or Magnaflow (hoping less volume = a little louder).

I'll make you a deal. You buy two 2.5" Dynomax Super Turbos and I'll buy them from you if you don't like them.

I have put several sets on cars to replace Flowmasters and every owner has been extremely happy with the results.

The best place for them is behind the axle. I've seen them ahead and behind the axle in early mustangs, depending on the system design.

Thanks for your offer. If I decide to go with Dynomax, do you also have the Super Turbos in 2 1/4 inch, and do you have Ultra Flows in same size?

I have Dynomax Super Turbos with 2 1/2" X-pipe. Great sound and have very good flow. I tried 3 other sets (06 GT takeoffs, Magnaflows, Magnaflow turbos - all too loud and harsh) before I settled on these. You can hear the radio, sound great winding out, but not so loud that every cop in 3 counties can year it.

Here are some clips (but with some background noise ).

VERY Impressive! I, too, have a "Shelby Pod" in my 65. Generally, on soundclips the thing I have learned is to listen to a number of ones for the same mufflers, and compare these "groups" with other groups----not a one-to-one comparison, but note recurring themes. As to the Dynomaxes, as a group they seem to have a deeper and smoother tone than most of the others, with Flowmasters being more hollow and rough sounding.
