Trunk seal position.
Hi,
I'm over in the UK and I have two Mustang Fastbacks, a 67 and a 68.
Can anyone tell me the correct position of the trunk seal. across the back edge of the trunk lid. The piece closest the window.
On both of mine the seal faces down and closes on top of the lip on the trunk rim opening. One has a slight profile when the boot is closed across the back edge, the other one is quite bad, and that one has a glass fiber trunk lid. The seal is then between the trunk rim and lid.
I thinking that the seal has been put on wrong, that it should not be facing down and land on top of the rim but should be to the back edge of the trunk rim and close against the inner rim. So when the trunk is shut the seal pushes on the inner edge of the rim....
It's hard to describe in words, but I can't find any pictures of the seal to go off.
Thanks.
