Default Constant power steering pump failer

well looks like im putting on my 5th power steering pump, thats right 5th. i keep getting a leak on the housings. this one lasted a couple months. wife said it made noise shortly after i installed it. is there something im missing. every thing was replaced years ago, hoses and ram, control valve. worked fine for years, then got a leak. replaced it but the one i put on leaked right off the bat, replaced it and it worked for couple months. and no im not prying on the housing to tighten it. i cant figure why so many would do this, lousy rebuilds ? next one im getting from autozone, last 5 came from checker.

If you ever need another, you need a better source.

I am on my 3rd in 3 years. Same thing. Housing is leaking. I was thinking next time i get one to run a small weld aroud the housing and the mounting bolt before i install it.

well replaced the rear section pf high pressure hose and now pump makes noise. ok so i get another, new fluid and bleed. drove it few miles and made sure it was full. the only problem with this pump is at a complete stop, if i turn the wheel right and left i can hear the pump, dont hear it when i drive, but at a full stop. guess ill drive it for a couple hundred miles and see if it gets better. as i remember it didnt make any noise when sitting and turning the wheel. i think if it doesnt clear up ill change to autozone, just hope they dont get theres from the same place as checker.
