Here is the '68. 289 auto, a/c. The motor is a little hurt.......danggit......I'm doing my research at the moment to do the 5.0L/AOD swap as the next part of the project.

My garage is a Mustang kinda place........although I no longer have the yellow '65 bucket of rust.

Put a 5.0 and a T5 in it

Those are one of my favorite sets of original rims for a mustang, my only others are the styled steel wheels for 65-67 and the mag wheels from 69+.

And building up your first car is fun, I completely redid mine back in 2009 when I was 17. My dad got me hooked when I started helping him restore his old 64 GMC back when I was only 13.

Here is how they sit now.

LOL!! Yeah......free car related poster.......you DID notice that it's crooked, right? For balance I have a nice big Ford GT poster beside it........squared away I might add.....;-)

I thank you and the others for your nice comments........humbly.

I'm trying to keep my son out of trouble (not that he's EVER been in ANY kind of trouble), and focused on something that can be extremely rewarding throughout his life.............and mine. Might teach him a thing or two while I'm at it. (not that I know anything).

NICE!!!! Are they the exact same color?

I'll go with the AOD in the coupe...........my son has NO need of a 5spd daily driver right now.......IMHO.......he can get that "fix" driving my GT....with ME in it with him of course. LOL!!

I call driving my GT........and riding my motorcycle.......as getting my "torque" fix..........some people smoke crack..........I smoke tires.........

I started daily driving my 67 with a 3 speed, then swapped to a T5. I absolutely love that 5th gear on the highway, so I'm sure a AOD will be a good one as well.

As far as I know the paint is different, his is just a little brighter. The truck is painted in chevy(i think) bright red, and mine is painted the original candy apple red.

We installed these all the way around..........Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks in the "vintage" paint scheme.......they look really cool.

Good choice. I swapped those onto my '67 a while back to replace some KYB Gas-A-Justs. Much better ride quality without sacrificing body control.
