Default Anyone with empty engine bay,65-69, got a question

Having a issue with Unisteer Rack and pinion, Unisteer claims that the measured distance from the control arm bolt across to other control arm is same throughout 1965-1970. My 1969 measures 19.5 bolt to bolt, problem is unisteer cut holes in their brace at 18.5, now they cut 1.5" holes, but I'll still need to cut alot out to get the brace to fit. I'v been wondering if earlier mustangs were closer and if this rack is for them. Unisteer claims they only make one size. If this is the case So much for bolt on installation.
So if any one wants to help, I need a measurement, and its probably impossible with your engine in place. Thanks

My unisteer rack didn't bolt at the control arms. It replaced the crossmember tube. There are large holes near the lower control arm inner bolt location. The rack doesn't bolt up there.

Yeah I know. I,m just wondering if on your application you had clearance issues with the control arm bolts, It seems Unisteer either cut out the holes too narrow or 1965-68 cars had a norrower measurement. I know this is all confusing and at the end of the day i'll probable have to just modify my rack to work but I still think Unisteer either cut the holes out too narrow or gave me the wrong setup.
