Here is a how to I wrote up back when I did mine..There is no cost other than the new gauges..

Default factory gauge swop

yep my brother and I both have Mach 1's mine is '73 his is '71 we bothe replaced our center gauges with aftermarket oines from behind. I have some pics of how we did it. We both opted to go mechanical thereby eliminating electrical issues.
