Need information
Soaring,
I am not sure I fully understand. Are all 65 mustangs that have a 289 V8 a GT or are there non-GT V8s?? I thought that it would say GT on it and have extra lights on it. Where can I get a copy of "1965 Mustangs for Dummies" (lol)?
Thanks!

No, very few were GT. 99% are not GT. You were asking about which red......Rangoon or candy apple. Here are some 65 cars with the correct colors for 65. See the slight difference in the two reds?

Here is some bedtime reading for you regarding the GT and all its' options.

A few comments:
-First, skiprCH, I think your convertible would sell for $17m minimum up here in Minn/Wis. Good V8 Mustang convertibles are upper teens and more.
-My 66 Sprint 200 convert (is this the millionth mustang model? 200cid/3spd/wire hubcaps/pony interior/chrome air cleaner) is a solid #3 car (no rust ever) and was a good buy at $12m this spring even though I had to put a clutch, brakes, and tires on it.
-$8m is a bargain if the body is solid. I'd drive to Oklahoma to buy it!
-Mine was repainted signal flare red (from the springtime yellow) and I'm convinced that changes people's reaction to the car. But I would have bought it regardless of color.
-My insurance also is State Farm and about the same rate. That's third-car/seasonal driver rates
-I'm on CarSoup with their "Car Detective" searching across the country for 65-67 Mustangs. It's a good way to track pricing.

Charlie1,
Are you saying that skiprCH's Convertible is worth $17K in Minn/Wis because of the GT restore? What do you think mine would be worth in your area? I have always wanted this car, but if it will bring that a guy has to consider it. Although I don't know if I could find this car again for $8K
