Cool Front Alignment after new suspension?

Hi,

I have been learning new things as I go with working on my 65 Mustang. I have never rebuilt a front suspension but have watch a lot of youtube videos and it seems pretty straight foward. I will be replacing upper and lower control arms, sway bar, struts, coil springs. I have shimms in the upper control arm now that I can see. Do I just reuse them?

Also, I will be replacing my steering linkage, how do you align that?

Any help would be great as I have never done this before. I will probably eventually bring it in to a shop for alignment but want to get things somewhat close.

Thanks!
