Default History lesson

Amanda asked we mods to come up with a history of the Mustang and other related Ford cars and trucks. Here is what I researched and gave her. If interested, save it so you can recall it in your later years.

Default RE: History lesson

That guy has a bit of hatred for the IIs

A V-8, while not a powerful one, returned in 1975 in the form of a 129-horsepower 302 cubic-incher. Ford committed blasphemy by fitting this engine in a hatchback model tagged Cobra II. This wanna-be snake was splashed with graphics, wore a chin spoiler and even had a Cobra emblem centered in its grille.
He fails to relate how ALL of the other companies dropped performance those years -mainly because of the new pollution controls that were implemented nation wide. The Pontiacs and Chevys were just as choked horsepower wise.

The IIs have their place. I owned quite a few of them. One of my favorite all time cars was my 1976 Cobra II with a V8. FUN FUN FUN!
