Default Gt 500 block #’s

Hi,

I am looking at a Gt 500 Saturday and would like to veify that the engine #'s match the chassis. Where do I find the #'s on the engine and how do I match them to the VIN? Also do these #'s indicate the engine size (if they don't match) or do I have to pull the starter to find the casting #'s. It should be a 428 4v (non CJ) Thanks in advance.

Actually Ford had a tendency to on;y use VIN numbers on the boss cars and the 289 HiPo's. The 428 you were looking at probably never had any chassis numbers stamped on it.
