Default Intake is off!

About to do my swap from 2v to 4v.

I have the old intake off and was wondering if there is anything I should do while it is off!?

Clean it maybe? Do a good inspection. Any pics of the progress?

HAHA thanks.

Got the new one on! I used black sealer around the water ports on the heads and intake. Also used only the black sealer on the ends of the intake. Hope it seals!

Kinda irritated that nobody told me to install the thermostat and housing BEFORE installing the intake!

I now have a huge leak cause I couldnt get to the right side bolt! DAMN it...

On a good note everything is installed and looks good. Started up after a while. I need to adjust the carb a bit but dont know how. She hesitates a bit.

Overall Im happy!

Yeah we just kept quite so we could laugh when it leaked and you're all like "WTF"

Actually I dont understand how it matter one way or the other. The T stat housing must install differently on 68 than it does on 66.

HAHA...I thought so!

Well it is a 70's block and the water pump is right in the way! Also, Im not sure I like the Mr. Gasket housing I have. It came with a rubber o-ring type gasket that I used with black sealer. Also the thermostat was slipping down when installing everything.

Any suggestions on new parts and or better installation? Also, which way is the proper way for the Tstat to sit?
