Default Carburetor Replacement

I have a 4bbl Carter on my 67' 302 rebuilt motor w/ Eldebrock performance289 intake.I would like to replace w/Holley,possibly 600cfm 4bbl or comparable.I'm looking for performance, reliability, and of course good mileage.(can you mix those three???)What is the best swap and where can I find it without breaking the bank.I've found several suppliers through ebay ,but there are so many choices I figured I'd get some feedback on personal experiences.

The Holley Street Avenger seems to fill your order. I seem to get great gas mileage(in between fill-ups becasue my sending unit is still broken) and outstanding performance. The throttle response is outstanding as well.
