Default Door hinge plate

So I decided to fix my hinge pins and wound up doing things the hard way. After removing the upper hinge on the drivers side the plate that holds the hinge fell down into the A pillar and i was forced to remove the dash, not so hard on 70 but still time consuming. I was able to access the A pillar slot but have not been able to successfully draw the plate out. Any suggestions or tricks, maybe even a snarky comment or two?

Jay, I found that you can remove the lower kick panel which will give you access to the lower plate. Other than that not much else but patience and trial and error. Magnets help too.

.. Yep, thanks Stangman, I finished up doing that.... the trial and error thing.... and finally had a win... but I was about to cut an access way into the outside of the A pillar, position the plate, then re-plate the accessway.... gotta be easier than all the B/S I went throught....cheers again and thanks.
