"project pony"
i have a non-working autolite 1100 series carburetor from a 1965 mustang, but the carb. year is a 98. i am missing a couple parts and there is broken parts, i am looking for a replacement carb and was wondering why the carb has changed so much? it looks like they took a couple things off, need help?
When I talked to Pony Carbs before I ordered they told me they improved some parts but they all fit just the same. I needed a choke rod, which they made of metal instead of plastic, some springs, and screws.
Hope this helps.
The only new carbs made were from Pony Carbs, and they are out of business.
The 1100 from a 1965 has a Spark Control Valve, and was made to run with a Load-O-Matic distributor. If you put an 1100 carb from a 1968 with a Load-O-Matic you probably won't get it running unless you disconnect the vacuum advance. Optimally you need a distributor from a 1968 to run an 1100 carb from a 1968.
