Default Dual Exhaust Conversion

I have a 1967 convertbile, 289, 3-speed. It comes with a single exhaust but I was thinking about converting it to dual. Are there any issue with the Dual conversion i need to be aware of? I was thinking about going with a simple 2" from mustangs unlimited and buying the hanger kit, any suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm trying to remember where I got this info, sorry, don't remember... stock 289, 2" is fine. Anywhere near 300+hp, move it up to 2.5", then 400hp up to 3", etc. Be carefull of the rubber brake line on the rear end at the driver side. You need to get a dual exhaust bracket that moves the mount outward to clear the exhaust pipe. You melt that hose, you have no brakes.

Ah, all 67-73 Mustangs had the hose mounted outboard, even the six cylinder cars.

As for size, 2" is fine on an unmodified 289 car. Heck, in 1967 the Shelby 428 dual-quad cars had 2" exhaust.
