Cracked Intake manifold
Hi,
Cracks, for the most part, in cast iron can be brazed. You need to seek an experienced welding shop. Cast iron is tough, in that, you have to be careful with the application of heat has to be slow as it has a tendency to want to can crack even more. Another possibility, is to use a Dremel with a carbide cutting tip and create slight grove in that crack, then fill with JB Weld, smooth and repaint. Seeing the intake is in place, have you taken an engine vac reading? This will tell you if that crack is all the way through to the valley and you have a vac leak. If your reading is 18-20" of vac, I'd leave it alone until such time as you remove it.
Good Luck!
