Question Rim Fitment Question?

I am in the process of having my mustang body and paint done at the body shop, as well as converting my 4 lug to 5 lug. I had the body shop get me some crap tires/rims just so I can have the car put on a flatbed and towed back home for now since I don't have an extra grand or so to invest in rims/tires.

Question is: I have a friend who has stock rims from his 93 Mitsubishi 3000GT and will give to me to use just for now. I looked them up they are 16x8 with a bolt pattern of 4.5. I know the mustang has a bolt pattern of 4.5. Will these fit my 65 mustang 5 lug?

Maybe...grab one and fit it.
BTW, have your body shop roll the fenders before painting.

Why would they have to roll the fenders?

So you can put on a wider tire without rubbing problems. Might as well do it now before it is painted.

I gotcha, so if I go with 15x7 rims would I need to roll the fenders?

No, maybe if you went with 15x8 and a tall sidewall.

Those rims probably won't fit the back spacing on a fwd is always different then a rwd car.If you have to roll the fenders or not depends on tire size ride height even rim back spacing too.

yep backspacing is probably gonna be all screwy some of the 3000GT's are also AWD some wheels that will get you rolling around would be like something off of a Ranger etc they have the same bolt pattern as a mustang

Allz I'm sayin is; it's easier to rollem now than later. Unless it's a show car, better to have the option at least.

If your going to paint the car i would roll the fenders before,It will give you more room later if you want and no one will ever really know its done.I would hit the junkyard see what older ford cars i can find late 70s back would be best.
