radiator support
I need to replace mine, and am wondering if they are bolt in or weld on? Any how to videos or write ups on this?
Thanks

I know on the 66 it's a weld in. with all the front end off, including the fenders, its not that complicated, just time consuming to removing everything, and then putting it all back. This includes the radiator and fan, etc.
Just use a small drill to make a pilot divot in the spot welds, then use a spot weld cutter. Just remember that the new piece uses the holes in the top of the aprons for alignment. Those holes are for the last fender bolt so be sure to look at everything before you remove the old one.
I used a spot welder to weld my new one in place and it would be hard for a casual observer to tell its been changed.

Here what you need to do to remove the battery tray apron and rad support.
.
and here is the after shot

You want to measure the hood opening diagonally rear to front before you start and then match those dimensions while you're laying in the new sheet metal. there is a Mustangs monthly tech article in June 2006 that shows the process.

Can you do this without pulling the engine? All the pictures I've found on the internet for this type of project have the engine pulled. Also, If you replace the left fender apron at the same time, what do you do about the VIN number stamped in the metal? Can you stamp in a vin on the new piece or do you have to cut it out and weld it into the new metal?
